right or wrong

I am furious! I was annoyed by a low class irresponsible dog owner in the Common this morning. For various reasons, I haven't been able to take the dogs out walking in the last 3/4 weeks, Colin walks them for me a couple of times a day. Colin mentioned to me that Saturn has been barking at an elderly man with pram, two days in a row; and Sonic beginning to pick up as well. I know Saturn is scare of pram, when he was 15 months old, there was a nasty lady push her pram into Saturn (purposely!) 4 times! We were walking to the Common and we have to pass by a bus stop to get to the Common and this lady probably dislike dogs, I was walking 4 dogs (Sing, Seagull, Saturn and Titan) at once then. Why she picked on Saturn, only God knows! After that, everytime Saturn saw a pram, he will avoid it and want to go a different way, so I don't blame him but I have been working on this with friend that have young toddler. He was getting very good at it, we did a lot of click & treat. So, when Colin told me about his behaviour, I decided it's time for me to get out and walk my dogs :)

It's a lovely morning, cloudy but dry. We enjoyed our peaceful walk to Seven Island Pond. All dogs behaving beautifully. I need not have to worry about them. They never done anything naughty whenever I walk them. We have not seen the elderly man with the pram. We had a little game by the pond. Just as I decided to move on. We saw a dog powering down to us from a distance. Normally, Sonic will bark and look worried but he wasn't today. He ran up half way and the dog lie down. I thought, that's good, for Sonic and for that dog. But, I decided we will carry on walking and calling Sonic. He ran and join us. Suddenly, the dog ran towards us and pounce and bounce on Sonic. As I am worry about Sonic's lower back problem, my immediate instinct is to pick him up. And I turn and look at that dog and realised she was the bouncy pouncey puppy that I hate! I don't know what breed is she but she is a large/giant breed that look like between a German Shepard and Wolf dog.

The first time I met her, she was about 10 weeks old. She was already uncontrollable. Well, the lady owner didn't even tempt to control her. She was bouncing and pouncing on the shelties. Although she was young but very powerful. She has quite a long body and powerful tail and paws. As we were approaching the road, I thought I will stop and let the owner to put her on the lead before we cross the road. The owner just walked pass her and I was stunt! We were standing by the road side for over 10 minutes and the owner was standing 100 yards away busy with her mobile. I lost my patient and I told her I am crossing the road. All she did was calling the puppy's name. The minute the pup turn and run to her, I quickly cross the road. The shelties were stressed as they were all on the lead and there's nothing they can do to get away from her.

The second time, we saw the puppy again, she was 3.5 months and she was huge, almost the size of Saturn. Again, bounce and pounce. None of my shelties wanted to interact with her. Again, the lady owner did nothing to control her. As we are in the middle of the Common, I just picked Sonic & Sizzle up and walked off, Sing, Seagull and Saturn and THAT PUPPY were following me. Grrr ... I couldn't care less anymore. I just go my way. The lady owner wasn't impress and came to get her puppy!

The third time, the puppy was even bigger. Same old story and this time I told her owner: Please control your dog! She stared at me like I have insulted her! She walked off without calling her puppy and I was so angry that I walked the other way. Of course, the puppy follow me! I just ignored the puppy and the puppy continue to pounce on my shelties. Then, I really want to get hold of the puppy and punch her! But, I hold my temper and carried on ... I was nearly on top of the hill and the owner still don't call her puppy. I disappear in the horizon with my shelties and this annoying puppy. Then, I saw this stupid woman coming from opposite and put her on the lead! Grrr ...

I don't know how old is that puppy now but she looks massive this morning. I was carrying Sonic and walked off, the others follow me, including this puppy, she pounce on Saturn and Saturn tried to tell her off and I for once encourage him as I really fed-up with this puppy. I turned to see the owner, it is the man today, I have not seen him before, so I assume he is the husband. I was hoping that he has better dog walking manners but he was so close with us and do nothing to stop his puppy. Sing was walking alongside me and this puppy just pounce and land herself on top of my poor old boy! Sing is such a tough dog, nothing can make him scream unless he is in pain, in this case, he did. I could take it no more, so I push the puppy off Sing and pick him up. The man saw me pushing his puppy and shouted at me: Don't you dare touch my dog. I replied: In that case, control your dog! He continue to say: This is Common land, everyone has the right to walk the dog. I replied: Yes! But your dog is pouncing on my dogs, control your dog! He then shouted at me loudly: You are a bitch! I was so angry that I shouted back: Yes, I am a BITCH! So what? ... well, you guess it, all the rude word came out from his mouth and gosh! I didn't realise I am good at that too! Colin was so worried that he keeps telling us to walk separate way! Poor man! Such a gentle soul! I can see him shaking already. I mean Colin LOL

I was furious and spoilt my peaceful walk that I always enjoy with my shelties! Why can't all dog owners learned the very basic manner? Grrr...

How horrible. I would have been scared to death.

You were definitely in the right. All you were doing was defending your dogs.

These people live in a world of their won called ignorance where they do nothing wrong it's always other peoples fault! Karma will get them! They spoil our walks which should be relaxing and enjoyable!
